Esquisses et rêverie
pour un jardin en devenir

This photographic and installation-based project brings together different material forms of the image: hand-moved scans of plant matter, colour photographs made on expired and altered 35 mm, medium-format and 4 × 5 film, as well as large-scale botanical prints.

The images come from different moments, supports and processes, and are then reworked, displaced and brought into relation within the space. Surfaces blur, overlap and contaminate one another. Plant matter becomes image, while photography takes on an almost organic materiality, shaped by alteration, light, time and direct contact between vegetal and chemical matter, paper and film.

Linked to my return to the Saguenay region and to a renewed engagement with this territory, the project approaches landscape less as a subject to be represented than as a space of transformation, cycles and persistence. It is part of an ongoing research process whose first iteration was presented in 2026 at Espace Partagé, Centre Bang, and it is also developing alongside a micro-edition produced with Centre SAGAMIE as part of Relier 2.0.

The project extends into a micro-edition produced in collaboration with Centre SAGAMIE as part of Relier 2.0. The book brings together photographs, scans and fragments from this research in a new sequence, allowing the images to respond to one another across the pages. Conceived as an extension of the project rather than as its documentation, it offers another way of moving through this garden in becoming.
